These pieces is for a museum exhibit project. The client wanted pieces that would used for opening a new Museum Exhibit called Sundance & the Spirits which will feature a model of the Sundance ceremony done by plain Indians and explanation of the cultures ceremony significance as well as plain Indians artifacts for the ceremony. The goal was to promote the Sundance & the Spirits Exhibit to all Museum visitors, whether members or non-members and to promote the private members-only Fundraiser to Museum members only. The artwork includes the Museum logo and Museum Exhibit artwork that includes plains Native art and art displaying the Sundance and parts of the ceremony. This artwork appeals to the audience because it displays the often forgotten about American history and a cultural experience to non-natives and different types natives wanting to learn more about the plain Indians. The color scheme will be created from only 2 colors, as well as mixes of those colors. A dark blue to represent the prayer clothes and muted yellow to represent the grass and sun. This color scheme appeals to the audience because it is a calm and relaxed color pallet no bright neon colors it’s more colors you’d find in nature. The color of the prayer clothes are used to create contrast and add emphasis to the pieces making them pop out compared to the rest of the mute neutral colors in the pallet. The bold font contrasts against the art and makes the title stand out, being the optical focus. The body copy is serif type of font to give it a western look but also make it easy to read for everyone which is a contrast to the decorative font for the title. These pieces stand out and show representation of native American culture.
